Understanding spring!

I couldn't quite estimate the apparent happiness spring had the potential to bring, I thought of it as just a season. But it all changed when I moved here to the mid-west.

But think of this.

Imagine being covered in layers, with your eyes firmly on the ground for a few months, as the cold wind didn't allow you to look up and look at your surroundings. All you could really see was the indoors, everything white. At first snow charms you, it makes you feel like you're living in magic, where everything is white.

However, after a while, it gets to you. You realize that your surroundings have lost color.

Until spring enters, you start to see little flower buds pop up at every nook and corner.

And more importantly when spring arrived, I had the luxury to move around, without being bundled up all the time, without any angry cold wind gushing in my face, and I felt like something was changing.

The problem is now, that my mind still thinks its winter. I thought I needed to be in my blanket. But I didn't.

I went for a run outside after a very long time yesterday.

And I cannot begin to describe the sights I saw.

My surroundings have changed, and they'll keep changing.

I am the only constant. The seasons and colors will keep changing, but I still feel a constant.

Anyway, so as I was running yesterday, I stopped a few times, to click pictures of the beauty I was experiencing.

The first thing I saw when I went running by Michigan lake. I ended up standing on those rocks, welcoming the winds in stead of wanting to escape the cold air. I ended up lounging on this bench for a bit, there was a beautiful tree above me, everything about this place seemed heavenly.
This is definitely my favorite bench in Evanston.

This is pure spring bliss. I think this picture defines how the sky looks in spring. Every time you look up, you're bound to see something gorgeous and colorful with the unending sky. Imagine this with the chirping. If Disney were a season, it would probably be spring. Hah!

These flowers caught my eye, while I was nearing the end of my run. The 'red' stands out boldly against the boring old ground.

Thank you for letting me experience spring, Evanston.

Looking forward to the summer, now.
